Labelling and regulatory status
Prebona Inodorus OdorCare spray do not need risk labeling pursuant to the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) and is not a biocide according to Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 (EU BPR).
In a recent (2021) communication to all registrants of synthetic amorphous silica, ECHA has indicated that the substance evaluation process of synthetic amorphous silica is completed and that the information available in the REACH dossier is sufficient to address the hazard- based concerns indicated in the Community Rolling Action Plan (CORAP) in 2012. The conclusions of the CORAP can be found on the ECHA website.
Safe to use
Colloidal silica is regarded as safe to use, and Prebona Inodorus OdorCare spray fulfil criteria for products with environmental labels such as Bluesign and OEKO-TEX. In many cases, Prebona Inodorus OdorCare spray offers substantial sustainability benefits, by replacing hazardous materials and improving properties and durability of and imparting new desired functionalities to different non-hazardous materials.
Nouryon (previously AKZO NOBEL), the global leader for production of colloidal silica, has commissioned several toxicity studies with modern colloidal silica, and data from these studies confirms that these materials are not dangerous to health or environment when handled correctly according to information in safety data sheets.
